The Warren County Public Schools’ Education Foundation was the brainchild of many invested stakeholders. Seeing the need to expand resources across all of the district’s schools to impact student achievement, Superintendent Rob Clayton and his team sought creative, innovative ways to secure the best learning environments possible for all students in Warren County. The Foundation was formed in early 2023, and held its first meeting on January 24, 2023. These concepts were presented as the focal points to ground the Foundation and also to challenge the Foundation’s newly formed Board to dream big and go after high standards for our schools and students. The main focus areas identified were:

  • Expand learning and leadership opportunities for students
  • To deepen the academic experience for students through problem based learning
  • Opportunities to expand college and career readiness activities
  • More support for gifted learning, arts and leadership
  • Support and advance teachers and staff
  • Support for state of the art programming and equipment

After identifying goals, objectives and a mission statement, the Foundation hired its first Director, Allison Mefford. Ms. Mefford started her position in September, 2024. The mission goals and objectives remain at the forefront of growing the Foundation. The students’ needs increase and the resource landscape continues to evolve. However, the Foundation is able to highlight the staunch need for the community and business to come alongside our students and teachers to shore them up. The Foundation began with the dream of stronger, better, more innovative schools through partnerships with all who believe in the power and potential of education. The Education Foundation in the future will evolve just as our students, teachers and schools do, but the cornerstone of building strong opportunities that impact students will always remain the goal.
